Managers quit after chairman steps down

Hucknall Town

Former Hucknall Town physio Jason Truscott and Alex Weston took charge at Hucknall Town on Wednesday following the resignations of joint-managers Gary Sucharewycz and Ian Robinson.

On a day of change at Watnall Road, Hucknall’s official website announced that Derek Blow was stepping down as the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South club’s Chairman after seven months at the helm. He is replaced by David Paling, a club committee member from Hucknall's main shirt sponsor Worksop Van Hire.

Ex-Town players Sucharewycz and Robinson had only been appointed joint-managers at the beginning of November following the departure of Brett Marshall.

Ironically, they quit after the rock-bottom Yellows celebrated back-to-back wins by beating high-flying King’s Lynn Town 4-2 at The Walks on Saturday, seven days after defeating Market Drayton Town at home by the same scoreline.

Hucknall's website is reporting that Truscott, who spent eight years at Watnall Road, and Weston, have called a players' meeting for Thursday night ahead of training as they prepare for Newcastle Town’s visit on Saturday.

* Grantham Town named Sucharewycz and Robinson as permanent replacements for departed joint managers Jimmy Albans and Wayne Hallcro on Wednesday night. See latest news.
