Marine extend Merseyside fans deal

Non-League Day

High-flying Marine are building on the success of Non-League Day by extending their discounted ticket offers for Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers season ticket holders.

The Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division’s Mariners say they've decided to continue reducing admission prices for any fans holding a valid season ticket to £5 until the end of the season after attracting plenty of new faces to the Arriva Stadium earlier this month.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary believes Non-League Day demonstrated the potential of Merseyside fans getting together and hopes the initiative to keep increasing gates will help Kevin Lynch’s in form side stay in the hunt for honours.

He said: "We were pleasantly surprised with the number of Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere fans that took up the free admission offer on National Non-League Day. This is another great way for Merseyside football fans who already have season tickets at Everton, Liverpool or Tranmere to adopt Marine as their second team.

"We’ve had a fantastic start to the season under Kevin Lynch and if we can increase our attendances even further with this special offer the extra support will be a great lift for our players who are doing so well. This new offer, which meets Evo-Stik NPL minimum pricing rules, has been introduced on a permanent basis to attract fans of local Premier and Football League clubs to come and support Marine."

Non-League Day on Saturday 13 October was supported by clubs up and down football’s Pyramid for the third year running. Organisers asked clubs to help attract new fans and raise awareness of the Non-League game by offering free or heavily discounted admission to season tickets holders at Premier League and Football League clubs.

More than half of this year’s Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division fixtures took part with many more from Evo-Stik NPL North and South running tickets offers and events for supporters. Marine, Rushall Olympic, Ilkeston, Hednesford, Frickley Athletic, Matlock Town, Garforth, Radcliffe Borough, Ossett Albion, Coalville Town and Stamford were among the Evo-Stik NPL clubs with home games who took part.
