The EVO-STIK League Premier club's president, pictured, was remembered before the 3pm kick-off at the Marine Travel Arena after passing way peacefully in hospital on Friday following a recent illness.
Hailed a "real ambassador", the stalwart served in a number of roles over the years. Starting as treasurer in 1980, a post which he served for over 30 years before retiring in 2013, he also acted as football secretary until 2008 and was proudly appointed as club president in July 2016.
In a statement announcing the news and pre-match tribute, a spokesman said: "Marine FC have lost a loyal friend who will be sadly missed by everyone at the club. Details of the funeral will be announced when known. Our condolences go to Geoff’s family."
