Mariners seek new reserves manager

Marine are looking for a new reserve team manager to look after the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club’s second string.

Reserves manager Dave Radin has left due to work and family commitments and the Mariners say they are targeting an FA qualified coach who has experience of managing at Step 7 of Non-League’s Pyramid or higher. Marine’s reserves play in Division One of the West Cheshire League and are currently third in the table.

Marine Chairman Paul Leary said it is vital the club find the right coach for such a critical role at the club and is looking forward to making an appointment.

He said: "The reserve team at Marine provides an important link between our youth and junior teams and our first team. The newly appointed manager is expected to work closely with manager Kevin Lynch and will play a key role in the progression of our younger players playing in the West Cheshire League and assisting in their continuing development, hopefully through to our first team."

He added: "I would personally like to thank the departing manager Dave Radin who has managed Marine Reserves for over three seasons. The team has shown a steady improvement in that time and is currently in a top three position. David has done an excellent job during his time with us and both Kevin and I have enjoyed working with him and wish him and his family well for the future. I would also like to thank David’s assistants Ronnie McGowan and Paul Reid who have also decided to move on for their contribution and support."

Applications for the post should be made in writing with an accompanying CV and be addressed to the Chairman, Paul Leary, Marine AFC, The Arriva Stadium, College Road Crosby, Liverpool L23 3AS. The closing date for applications is Friday 23 November 2012.

Mariners Secretary Richard Cross said the club is also looking for a new Match Secretary to start work at the Arriva Stadium. Cross says the post is voluntary and ideal for candidates looking to get into football administration. Training will be provided if necessary.

Applicants should send their CV, with a covering letter, via email ro: richard@marinefc.com. The closing date for applications is also Friday 23 November 2012.
