Hucknall signings aid survival fight

Hucknall Town

Hucknall Town manager Gary Sucharewycz has drafted in two more recruits to help the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Yellows start climbing the table.

The rock-bottom Yellows signed Perry Marriott from Eastwood Town and Tristram Whitman from Arnold Town on Thursday to aid their survival fight.

Marriott is a 20-year-old central defender who has made a handful of first-team appearances for the Badgers in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division this season. Whitman, 32, is an influential and vastly experienced midfielder who returns to the club from Northern Counties East League Eagles.

Whitman was on Carlton Town's books last term and started his playing career with Arnold before making a £10,000 transer to Doncaster Rovers in February 2000. In May 2003 he helped Rovers clinch promotion back to the Football League via the Conference play-offs and has also won international recognition playing for Paul Fairclough's England C side.

He later joined Dagenham & Redbridge and has also turned out for Scarborough, Tamworth, Leigh Genesis, Crawley Town and Farsley Celtic.
