Marske midfielder requests transfer

Marske United attacking midfielder Dale Hopson has requested a transfer away from the club.

Hopson, 30, joined the club in July 2021 from Northern Football League side Thornaby.

Since then, he has made 59 appearances for the Seasiders, scoring 10 times.

The former Whitby Town player has featured for numerous clubs including Huddersfield Town, Darlington, Blyth Spartans and Swedish clubs Landskrona and Ytterhogdals IK.

Speaking about the transfer request, Marske United manager Curtis Woodhouse said: "He asked to leave last Thursday for personal reasons so I said I would help him anyway I could. He’s looking to play local I believe."

Marske United are next in action on Saturday as they make the trip to Atherton Collieries in the Northern Premier League.
