Massanka the man for Macclesfield

Macclesfield have signed experienced South Shields forward Ntumba Massanka.

His contract with the Mariners has been terminated by mutual consent, allowing him to make the move to the Pitching In NPL West Division leaders.

Massanka will be eligible to make his debut at home to Leek Town on Saturday.

Born in Tottenham, Massanka spent six years at Manchester United as a junior.

Spells at Manchester City and Burnley followed, and he signed his first professional deal with the Clarets in 2015.

He has since featured for a number of clubs across the UK, as well as enjoying time in Belgium and Italy with RWDM47 and ASD Angelana respectively.

The 26-year-old joined South Shields in the summer of 2021 and made 13 appearances for the club in total, scoring five times.

“I’m really excited and thankful for the opportunity to be here,” he said. “I can’t wait to get going.

“I’ve seen the success that the club has had, and the success that I think this project is going to have.

“When the club got in contact, it’s something that I wanted to get into.”
