Although he predominately plays on the right, McNicholas can also play on the left and earned the praise of some supporters for his versatility.
McNicholas signed for the club back in February from Loughborough Dynamo. Since then, he has made 13 appearances for the club, scoring once in a 2-1 defeat at Marske United.
He was also sent off in a 1-1 draw with Ashton United.
Gladiators manager Martin Carruthers was delighted the 24-year-old has committed his future to the club.
“I’m delighted to have Robbie with us for next season,” he said. “He’s played out of position in a lot of the games and just got on with it and for me he’s been one of our most consistent performers despite picking up injuries and a suspension.
“He’s done a fantastic job for us so he’s been an excellent addition.”
