Mossley have announced that manager Gareth McClelland has quit the club in order to take the role of Chief Scout at FC Halifax Town.
The club announced the news in a statement released on the club's "Mossleyweb" website on Saturday night following the First Division North side's 2-1 defeat to Farsley. The news was then confirmed to the league on Monday morning.
The statement read, "Gareth McClelland has today resigned as Mossley Manager to take up a position with Blue Square North promotion hopefuls FC Halifax Town.
"No decision on Gareth's successor has yet been made but a decision is likely sooner rather than later."
McClelland was appointed as permanent Mossley manager in April of last year after a spell as caretaker, and lead the team to a 15th place finish in First Division North.
The 29-year old became the Northern Premier League's youngest ever manager when he took charge of previous club Woodley Sports back in 2010, and has already spent time scouting for current FC Halifax Town manager Neil Aspin.
