Merson on stage at the Meres

Former Arsenal and England international Paul Merson is heading to the Meres next Friday night to entertain the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club's fans.

Merson, pictured, has forged a successful media career on Sky Sports and elsewhere since retiring as one of the game's legends. Now 46, his glittering rollercoaster of a career saw him play against many of the world’s top players as well as confronting drinking and gambling demons.

Now one of the most sought after names on the after-dinner speaking circuit, Merson went on to play for Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Walsall before a brief spell at Tamworth and a final cameo appearance for Welshpool in 2012.

Tickets are priced at £350 per table of ten or £35 per person with the doors opening at Grantham’s MCS Centre on Friday 16 May at 7.15pm.
