Midfield boost for Blues

Clitheroe

Clitheroe manager Paul Moore has added central midfielder Sean Pearson to his Evo-Stik NPL First Division North squad.

Pearson is a central midfield player who joins the club from North West Counties Premier Division side Runcorn Linnets.

Pearson made a big impact with the Linnets after joining the Merseyside club at the start of October 2010 from Ashton Athletic. Last season the box-to-box midfielder made 54 starts from a possible 56 and won a string of accolades, including the Players’ Player of the Year and Young Linnets Player of the Year awards.

Pearson was set to go straight into Moore's squad for Saturday's league clash at Cammell Laird.

But Clitheroe's manager will be without two players who've been allowed to leave Shawbridge this week on loan to reover their fitness and gain more experience.

Louis Edwards, sidelined since August with a hamstring injury, has joined NWCL side Rochdale Town on a temporary basis in order to build up his match fitness.

Stuart McDonald has been loaned out to another NWCL outfit, Wigan Robin Park, for a spell to gain further experience.
