Warrington Town have swooped to sign Chorley's transfer-listed goal machine Ciaran Kilheeney in time for Saturday's Evo-Stik NPL First Division North trip to Wakefield.

The Evo-Stik NPL Premier Magpies made the striker available in midweek and the Wire's delighted manager Shaun Reid said: "This is a major coup for Warrington Town as Kilheeney is a proven goal scorer at every club he has played for. It is a massive boost for our squad."

Warrington also signed former Blackpool and Hibernian defender Adam Mitter from Kettering Town in time for Saturday's action. Mitter, 20, can play right back or central defence and was on a full-time contract in Scotland prior to his move to Kettering where he was captain.

Kilheeney, 28, joined Chorley in March 2012 from Conference North side Droylsden, making an immediate impact at Victory Park by netting twice on his debut at Worksop Town. He finished the season with seven goals in the final nine games to help the Magpies secure a place in the end of season promotion play-offs. The former Manchester City trainee has continued to score goals this season, adding another eight goals to his tally.

A prolific striker at every club he has played for, he came to prominence in his early 20’s at Ashton United and Radcliffe Borough in the Northern Premier League before becoming a leading striker in the Conference North, netting over 100 goals with Burscough, Southport and Droylsden over a five year spell.
