Monday's North Division action review

By David Watters

Brighouse Town moved ten points clear of EVO-STIK League North bottom-markers Goole AFC with fifteen points left to play with after a 1-0 win against Mossley AFC on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

And Brighouse had to do it the hard way too after having Callum Hall dismissed with a straight red card offence after only 27 minutes.

The Yorkshire side battled hard in difficult conditions and eventually were rewarded eight minutes from time when a corner was punched out by the Mossley keeper but only to James Hurtley who smashed it back past him for the only goal of the game.

Skelmersdale United moved 11 points clear of the relegation spot after beating the team now immediately above them in the table, Ossett Albion, 3-1, at Stormy Corner.

And Skem had to come back from being a 24th minute Tom Corner goal down to win. Scott Bakkor equalised just before half-time and 12 minutes into the second half, Liam Davies gave the hosts the lead. On 67 minutes, Albion were reduced to ten-men when Jack Stockdill was sent-off and on 74 minutes, James Barrigan ensured the points were Skem`s with their third goal.
