Monday's Premier Division action review

Ilkeston FC moved into fourth place in the EVO-STIK League's Premier Division table on Monday night after beating Marine AFC by a single goal at the New Manor Ground, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Robins came into the game in buoyant mood, having knocked Conference North side Solihull Moors out of the FA Cup on Saturday. And they came up against a Mariners outfit who are struggling in the league but did the same to Solihull's league rivals Hyde FC, winning by the odd goal in nine in one of last Saturday's Second Qualifying Round thrillers.

There was only one goal in it on Monday, however. It came with many of the 312 crowd already making their way towards the exits with less than two minutes to go, Ilkeston's academy graduate Luke Shaw heading home a fine winner from a Kieran Wallace free-kick.
