A crowd of 489 at the New Manor Ground saw the Robins, who came into the game on the back of a six-game win-less run under new head coach Gavin Strachan, take an 11th minute lead when the Quakers` Leon Scott was adjudged to have fouled JJ Blake in the box and the victim got up to net the resulting penalty.
But just two minutes after the interval, Darlington equalised through Terry Galbraith. However, shortly afterwards Chris Hunter was dismissed for a reckless challenge. After some re-organising, Darlington managed to hold firm and earn what could prove to be a precious point.
Monday's other game at Ewen Fields between Hyde United and Stamford AFC produced eight goals but sadly for the visiting Daniels the Tigers bagged seven of them to end up 7-1 winners!
Hyde came into the game on the back of a superb 3-2 win at Darlington on Saturday in which Scott Spencer netted a hat-trick. And the former England C international repeated that feat 48 hours later to become the first Hyde player to score consecutive hat-tricks since way back in 1960.
It was Reece Gray who gave the home side an early ninth minute lead, and it wasn`t until just past the half-hour mark that Spencer doubled the home side`s lead with his first of the game.
Nine minutes after the break Gray added his second, swiftly followed by Spencer's, who notched his hat-trick less than three minutes afterwards.
Lee Neville made it 6-0 with a fine free-kick on 72 minutes, with Stamford netting a consolation penalty converted by top scorer Ryan Robbins three minutes later. But Ayrton Bevins made it 7-1 five minutes from time to record Hyde`s biggest league win since December 2012.
