Monday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Hyde United climbed into fourth place in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division table on Monday night after winning a best-of-five encounter with struggling Colwyn Bay at Ewen Fields, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Tigers were in front inside five minutes when Scott Spencer set up strike partner Ayrton Bevins to score his 11th of the season to date.

In-form Hyde looked in rampant mood and Bay `keeper Louis Gray was forced into a couple of fine saves to keep the score to 1-0 and the hosts also hit the bar twice before the visitors shocked the Tigers by equalising against the run of play after 27 minutes.

Cory Williams was pushed down in the box and Robbie Booth netted the resulting penalty. And then a minute before half-time Williams put the Seagulls 2-1 up from close range.

Spencer wasn`t to be denied however he and followed up his hat-trick on Saturday at home to Ramsbottom with a brace in the 58th and 62nd minutes to take his tally to 19 goals in all competitions to date.
