The visitors were under the cosh for much of the game, and the margin of victory could easily have been wider. The Glassboys had already been close twice when Jordan Archer missed with a free header from Josh Green’s corner, and then had claims for a goal waved away after a goalmouth scramble.

The deadlock was eventually broken when Aaron Forde intercepted a pass to set up Jordan Archer on 33 minutes and his strike from 25 yards went in off James Wren’s right-hand post.

Ryan Rowe had a goal disallowed for handball just before the break but was not to be denied his first goal of the season with 63 minutes played when he turned home jack Duggan’s powerful header from another Green corner.
