New logo reinforces league links

Students at the EVO-STIK League's ground-breaking NPL Football Academy are kicking off in 2018-19 with a new logo and branding!

Now entering it’s fourth year, the NPLFA introduced the new logo, pictured, to reinforce links with the EVO-STIK League this week as more than 400 students started or returned to their studies and tutors and coaches prepared to launch their 2018 recruitment drive.

Designed by Adam Campion of www.acampion.co.uk, the new design sees a change in shape from a rectangle to a more traditional football style circle. Most importantly, it now includes the full name of the only league-wide academy in English football as well as the more recognisably known NPLFA acronym.

According to officials at the NPLFA, navy blue has been added to their original gold colours to give the new logo a more modern and classic look. “We are delighted with the new logo," said a spokesman.

"Adam Campion has done a fantastic job incorporating the old logo whilst giving it a new twist. The old logo was created for the pilot year in 2014 and it was felt due to the growth made in the last three years and with the brand new degree course starting this September, the time was right for a re-brand and we couldn’t be happier with what Adam has produced.”

The EVO-STIK League’s ground-breaking academy was founded with the backing of the Football Association at five pilot clubs in September 2014 to provide career pathways into the football industry.

Expanded to 12 clubs catering to more than 400 students for the 2017-18 season, the NPLFA is still the only league-wide academy in English football combining sport with education. Thanks to the new higher education partnership with Loughborough College, youngsters currently studying with the NPLFA on two year BTEC courses or embarking on them this Autumn are also be able to continue their education to degree level while developing their football careers within the EVO-STIK League.

When not studying, students train on a daily basis with UEFA qualified coaches while competing in the NPL Youth League and the FA Youth Cup. In April, Mickleover Sports won the NPLFA's youth league for the third season running while Warrington Town's stars of the future lifted the inaugural NPLFA Cup at Stole City's Bet365 Stadium.

The exploits of the NPLFA’s stars are not going unnoticed either. Since last season the NPLFA has been recording all its matches for coaching and publicity purposes, the footage shot by FilmMyMatch before the clips are edited into highlights packages for viewers on the academy’s website and busy social media channels.
