Pictured last May following his appointment as Bay boss, Moore was named as the successor to Adam Lakeland at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club on Thursday morning.
Moore, who can name Portsmouth and Hull City among his former clubs as a player and also enjoyed managerial spells at Warrington Town and Ashton Athletic, will take charge of his first game on Boxing Day against local rivals Witton Albion at Wincham Park.
Lakeland's number two Dave Wild, who took charge of the team at Stocksbridge Park Steels last weekend, has left the club after being offered the chance to continue in the assistant manager's role under Moore.
Northwich Victoria secretary Dave Thomas said: “We are delighted to have secured Paul's services especially with him having just left Colwyn Bay in a strong position just a couple of points off the play off positions. Paul is experienced, local and appreciates the constraints we have on the club at the moment.”
Lakeland stood down last week after the club appointed an administrator on December 1 for the third time in little more than a decade. Talks on the sale of Vics with interested parties, including supporters who are currently campaigning to raise funds to keep the club going, are ongoing.
