Moss set for dugout debut

Nantwich Town expect Darren Moss to make his managerial debut on Tuesday night when Chorley arrive at the Weaver Stadium.

Barring further snowfalls in the area, the Dabbers skipper, pictured, will take charge for the first time at the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club following the resignation of caretaker manager Phil Staley last week.

Former assistant manager Staley took over from the departed Jimmy Quinn earlier this month and stood down on doctor's orders before getting the chance to manage the side following a series of postponed matches in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division.

Moss will be without the services Nicky Platt and Alex Meaney for the visit of the play-off chasing Magpies. Platt signed for New Mills last week, while Meaney was recalled by Stockport County. Midfielder Oliver Devenney, who joined the Dabbers from Clitheroe prior to Jimmy Quinn’s departure, is in line to make his debut.

Kick-off is 7.45pm and the Dabbers say they'll also be showing England’s game against Montenegro live on the big screen in their main bar.
