Mossley defender agrees new one-year deal

Mossley have announced that Will Shepherd has agreed a new deal which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The 2022/23 season saw Shepherd cement his place in manager David Fish’s starting XI at right-back.

He has gone on to feature more in his preferred central midfield berth this season and has made 70 appearances for the Lilywhites to date, scoring five times in all competitions.

Shepherd's performances have helped the club to a comfortable mid-table position in the Pitching In NPL West Division this term.

An eight-game unbeaten run in the league means they enter the weekend five points adrift of the play-offs with seven games still to play.

Discussing the new deal, manager David Fish said: “I’m delighted that Will has extended his stay with us. He’s been a revelation in his preferred central midfield position in the second half of the season, and at 22 he is only going to get better and better.

“Whilst there’s still a lot of football to be played this season, I’m keen to build for next season too, and Shep will be an important part of the spine of that team.”
