Nailers hail three in one Graves

Belper Town

Belper Town manager Pete Duffield reckons the return of Eric Graves to his hometown club ahead of Saturday's trip to league leaders Coalville Town was like signing three players in one.

The Nailers face a tough test but Duffield's hopes have been boosted by the arrival of Graves from Mickleover Sports on Friday and two experienced defenders, former Derby County man Chris Jones and Rory Coleman from Conference North Hinckley United earlier in the week.

Duffield said: "Eric can play anywhere across the midfield, so it's like signing three players in one. It's important to have someone like that at this level. He's played at a higher level and he's not just come here to sit on the bench."

Coalville have a 100 percent home record but Belper are one of only three sides to have taken points off them this season, having drawn 1-1 with them on the opening day of the season, and Duffield they should be aiming to match that result at least.

"They are going great guns but we want to go there and show how good we can be," said Duffield. "I want to be in the play-off places and if we are going to be serious contenders, we need to be going to places like this and getting a result."
