Nailers sign experienced defender

Belper Town manager Peter Duffield added Sam Purcicoe to his squad on Friday after the experienced defender agreed to switch from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League rivals Grantham Town.

Purcicoe, a former Mansfield Town youth player who joined Grantham in 2010 on loan from the Stags before making a permanent move to the Lincolnshire side, will go straight into the Nailers squad for Saturday’s First Division South clash with Bedworth United at Christchurch Meadow.

Purcicoe was also selected in the 2012-13 Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Team of the Year and joins an improving Nailers side who are coming into form after winning their last three outings.
