Nailers swoop after Cup shocker

Belper Town

Nailers manager Peter Duffield made two signings today [Friday] in the wake of Tuesday night's heavy FA Cup replay defeat at the hands of Ilkeston.

Belper went down 5-1 at home and in an intriguing twist, Andrew Osei-Siribour, one of the Ilkeston substitutes in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round rematch, was the first to sign for Belper.

The frontman joins alongside James Ozmen from Holbrook Sports with both players eligible to play in Saturday's FA Trophy's First Qualifying Round clash at home to Evo-Stik Southern League Leamington.

Promising striker Osei-Siribour, pictured, arrives on a short–term loan from Belper's Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Derbyshire neighbours. He can also operate in wide areas and spent nine years as a youngster with Wycombe Wanderers before doing his apprenticeship with Port Vale.

Having graduated from the Ilkeston's Academy team to earn his first professional contract in 2011-12, the frontman was handed another 12-month deal to continue his progress. Duffield hopes his spell with the Nailers will aid both his own and the club's ambitions.

Belper's manager has also boosted his midfield options with the signing of midfielder Ozmen from close neighbours Holbrook Sports. An all-action central midfielder, he also loves to get forward and score.

Ozmen started his career at Holbrook Sports but also played for Conference North side Corby Town last season where he had the honour of scoring the very first goal at their new Steel Park stadium. The midfielder returned to Holbrook in the summer where his recent performances caught the eye of Duffield.
