Neil Danns signs new Macclesfield deal

Macclesfield head coach Neil Danns has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

His assistant, Mark Duffy, will also remain at the Silkmen after the pair orchestrated the club's march to the Pitching In NPL West Division title.

Player-coach Danns was initially named as Dave McNabb's successor on an interim basis in December, before a run of five wins in six matches saw him named head coach on a permanent deal until the end of the current season.

The club will play in the Northern Premier League next season after sealing back-to-back promotions following a 3-1 victory over Trafford at the beginning of April.

Macclesfield are currently 14 points clear at the top and will look to extend that further on Saturday at home to mid-table Prescot Cables.
