A new club badge will be adorning Grantham Town’s kit in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League next season.

As part of the Premier Division club’s 140th anniversary celebrations this year, officials at The Meres invited fans to enter a competition to design a new badge reflecting the club’s proud history.

Supporters have been voting on the designs submitted over the last few weeks and the winning entry from fan Dominic Deegan, pictured, was unveiled on Monday. He is set to receive two season tickets for next season as his prize for submitting the winning entry.

The Lincolnshire club, who held a champagne reception for their local business community last week to mark the launch of a series of events during the club’s milestone year, are delighted with their supporter approved re-brand.

Chief Executive Officer Barrie Pierpoint said: "Dominic’s design includes all the elements we were hoping to see. From the club colours, to including the anniversary celebrations, it reflects the club 100 per cent without being over complicated.

"The club would like to thank everyone who sent in designs and everyone who voted. The response we have had is superb and a great start to our celebrations of the long life of this club."

* The Gingerbreads say season tickets for next season offering even better value are now on sale. Fans who purchase before May 31 will also qualify for a further discount with the tickets priced at £180 until the end of the month.
