Grantham Town are thanking their local business community and civic leaders for supporting the official opening of the MSC Centre at the Meres Stadium.

Mayor of Grantham, Councillor Ian Stokes, officially opened the new conferencing and banqueting facility at the Premier Division club last Friday.

Built to support the club by boosting finances and reinforcing community links, the plush new centre boasts a fully licensed bar, pictured, a main suite hosting 120 guests and separate meeting rooms for 20.

A range of on-site catering is available with internet, printing and other facilities, including hourly rates, also available to business users. The Gingerbreads hope their location offering excellent road and rail links to the rest of the UK will attract customers from further afield too.

Grantham's MSC Centre is sure to be a hit with supporters next season on matchdays and a club spokesman said: "The club would like to say a big thank you to all who supported Friday's launch. We received a lot of positive feedback from guests and we've started taking bookings already.

"The MCS Centre has been created with one clear set of aims - to support Grantham Town Football Club, Grantham Town Youth Football, Grantham itself as a town and the local community.

"We are going to do this by reinvesting all proceeds from the MCS Centre back into local football, to increase the presence of the football club in the town and invite the community to support us by providing a brand new, and we think very nice, facility for their use to celebrate their occasions and parties with us."
