Cup winners lead line-up

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Northwich Victoria have lined up a prestigious preseason friendly list, led by the chance to test themselves against FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic.

The Vics say they're taking on the former NPL club at Flixton's Valley Road on Saturday 20 July. Lee Ashcroft's side kick off their preparations for the new campaign against Fleetwood Town on Thursday 4 July and are also taking on Rochdale, Stockport County and Blackburn Rovers at Valley Road.

The Vics say all five Football League clubs have told them they're intending to send first team squads.

Before the clash with the FA Cup holders, Supporters Association Treasurer Colin Buckley and Media Officer Jason Dudley are embarking on a 17 mile sponsored walk to raise money for the Northwich Victoria Supporters Association and local children's charity The Joshua Tree.
