Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Buxton have rewarded manager Martin McIntosh with a new contract for turning around their fortunes.
McIntosh, who took over from former manager John Reed in January 2012, is pictured shaking hands with Bucks Chairman David Hopkins on his new two and half year deal before Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Darlington in the FA Trophy's First Qualifying Round.
Buxton hope the new contract will keep the 42-year-old former Tottenham youth player in the Silverlands hot-seat until the end of the 2015-16 campaign. After winning ten of his first 13 games in charge to rescue the Bucks from almost certain relegation, he led them to Derbyshire Senior Cup success and last season to the fringes of the Premier Division play-offs.
Buxton spokesman Mike Barton said: "The Board of Directors, recognising the value of stability, are most appreciative of the work McIntosh has done in turning round the club’s fortunes in his twenty-one months at the Silverlands, driving Buxton Football Club forward from near-certain relegation to a challenging position in the NPL Premier Division. The Board now look forward to McIntosh leading the club to further progress in the seasons ahead."
