A member of the media team at Croft Park since last season after leaving the University of Sunderland with an MA in sports Journalism, the 29-year-old soon became a Spartans fan and spent last season working alongside commentator Ryan Gray on the club's radio station, relaunched and rebranded for the upcoming campaign last week as Radio Blyth Live.
Ross, pictured, is looking forward to continuing to contribute to all areas of the media team's work while putting together the club's matchday magazine during what he hopes will be a promotion winning season.
He said: “I was lucky to get involved with radio coverage of Blyth games last season, so to become part of the Spartans family on another platform is something I am very excited about. The aim this season has to be promotion. With the talent Tom Wade has retained and brought in, I am confident that it can be achieved.”
Blyth Spartans media manager Phil Castiaux said: “Previous editor Matt Riggs, who moved to a full-time job with West Ham, is a hard act to follow but I’m confident that Ally is the man for the job. He is an experienced journalist who will add massively to the team’s output both in terms of quantity and quality.”
