Seadogs chairman Trevor Bull is pictured outlining ground improvements for the Flamingo Land Stadium, including increasing the capacity to 4,000 if the Seadogs can take advantage of the match-funding opportunities available, at the EVO-STIK League North club's Annual General Meeting.
As well as improving the view for spectators, increasing the number of seats and providing more covered areas in the short term, Bull told the meeting that plans to purchase a new irrigation system and a temporary stand including a raised wheelchair area were also being progressed.
The Seadogs - who've been attracting bumper crowds since ending their ten year exile this summer to return home to the town - say ground sponsorship money from stadium sponsors Flamingo Land will cover the bulk of the improvements and are working to maximise sponsorship opportunities to make up any shortfall and ensure the cost to the club would be minimal.
Installing more temporary seating and roofing should be completed by the end of the year and Bull told the meeting said: “The proposals would give us covered areas on all four sides of the ground and provide us with extra seating on match days. What we’re achieving as a club within this town has taken a lot of people by surprise.
"The support we have received from our partners about what we’re trying to do has been fantastic so far to help us provide a better viewing experience for our supporters. We’re keen to get this sorted as quickly as possible and are working hard to put everything in place.”
