The tall stopper was snapped up by Moors boss Jason Ainsley from National League outfit Dover Athletic following previous spells with Hartlepool United and Guisborough Town.
The 28-year-old trained with the play-off winning Moors squad for the first time on Thursday night and officials say he is relocating to the North East to join the club's debut campaign in the EVO-STIK NPL's Premier Division.
After signing his new keeper, Ainsley told the club's fans he was delighted with their transfer business so far this summer following their promotion from EVO-STIK NPL First Division North.
He said: “We’re thrilled to have signed Andrew on a two year deal. He was looking to relocate back to the North East and as soon as I heard this it was important that I showed an interest in him.
“Andy is a massive presence at 6ft 6in and, having played more than 50 conference games, gives us the experience that we’ll need going into a tough season.
“With Dan Lowson and now Andy, we have two exceptional goalkeepers who I believe will bring each other’s game on tremendously and I look forward to working with him over the next two seasons.”
In a statement released by the club announcing his arrival at The Brewery Field, Rafferty said: “I’m delighted to be a part of such an ambitious club. After hearing what the chairman and manager had to say and seeing the facilities it was an easy decision. I can’t wait to get started.”
