Nine players released by Marine

Marine have confirmed the departure of nine first team players.

Goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant, who made 50 appearances for the Mariners last season, is among the players who will not be staying as preparations continue ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Passant had been with the club for three years and helped guide them to promotion to the Northern Premier League.

Also leaving the club are James Barrigan, Louis Britton, Luke Clark, Alex Doyle, Germano Mendes, Josh Solomon-Davies, Sean Smith and Lucas Weir.

Britton was the club's third-highest scorer last season, netting eight times in nine appearances following his arrival from Chorley in February.

The nine released players will depart alongside Ben Hodkinson, who recently returned to former club Bootle for an undisclosed fee.

Neil Young's Mariners finished seven points adrift of the play-offs on their return to Step 3.
