NLD-style promotion at turnstiles

Title-chasing Basford United are running a Non League Day-style promotion for their next two home games in the EVO-STIK League.

The runaway EVO-STIK League South leaders are inviting fans of Premier League and Football League clubs to see them host Market Drayton Town at Greenwich Avenue this Saturday and Romulus next weekend for just £5 on production of a valid season ticket. Families can also take advantage of a half price offer – £5 for up to four people, with a maximum of two adults.

The Nottinghamshire club are returning to league action after a two week enforced lay-off that has at least given manager Martin Carruthers plenty of opportunities to put his side through their paces at training.

Carruthers said: “We have had two high intensity training sessions this week and we will ensure our players understand the importance of the next three league games. We have to work even harder now to ensure we maintain our lead at the top and achieve the goal of promotion.”
