NPL round-up | Saturday 23 December

Radcliffe slumped to their second successive defeat, leaving their lead at the top of the Northern Premier League standing at just two points heading into Christmas.

The Boro fell to a 3-1 defeat at Hyde United. Will Russ and Jamie Morgan exchanged first half goals, but it was Callum Spooner and Lewis Alessandra who did the damage for the Tigers in the final quarter as they stunned the league leaders to move onto 37 points.

Second-placed Warrington Rylands were unable to draw level on points with Radcliffe after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Atherton Collieries.

Enoch Lusiama's equaliser for Colls 11 minutes from time was enough to earn a point which saw them climb off the foot of the league table.

Fellow high-flyers Worksop Town and Marine were held to draws on the road at Lancaster City and Whitby Town respectively, while Ashton United dropped two places in the table after losing 1-0 at struggling Marske United, who were indebted to Adam Boyes' fifth minute winner.

Elsewhere, Macclesfield returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Gainsborough Trinity.

Luke Duffy and John Rooney did the damage for the Silkmen in the first half before Paul Dawson made sure of the win shortly after the hour mark.

Guiseley are up to eighth after edging past Basford United.

Gabriel Johnson struck in the 64th minute, and that goal proved to be decisive as the Lions made it seven points from a possible nine heading into Christmas.

Bamber Bridge made it back-to-back wins as three second half goals saw them ease past Bradford Park Avenue on their travels, and Jordan Buckley scored his first goal since returning to FC United of Manchester as they overcame Dave Cooke's Stafford Rangers, who sit bottom of the pile and have plenty of work to do in the second half of the season.

Another side with three points to their name were Workington. They ran riot against Ilkeston Town, hacing come from a goal down to run out comfortable 4-1 winners at Borough Park.
