NPL welcome Kappa

By James Gordon

The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League is pleased to announce that iconic sports brand Kappa will takeover as its official benchwear partner from the 2019/20 season.

In an exciting three-year partnership, the deal will bring improved commercial benefits to the NPL and enhance the delivery of teamwear and replica kit to its 62 member clubs.

Kappa is worn by professional clubs including Leeds United, Napoli and Real Betis, while they also supply clubs, leagues and associations across the world in a number of sports.

During seasons 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22, all NPL club management teams will wear Kappa benchwear for all league, FA Cup and FA Trophy fixtures.

Further key improvements to the deal is a three-way service level agreement governing orders between NPL clubs and Kappa, which enables clubs to still negotiate their own deals but all orders must be fulfilled within 15 working days including personalisation.

NPL chairman, Mark Harris, said: “We are delighted to welcome such an iconic sports brand in Kappa as a league partner, and more importantly, to have agreed a deal that improves the service provided to our clubs and the value that they receive.

“Our existing deal with current benchwear partners Macron runs for the remainder of this season and we would like to thank them for their support over the past three years.”

Dave Bandell, Team Sport Manager of Kappa, said: “We are delighted to be new partners of the Northern Premier League as the official bench wear partner for seasons 2019-2022.

“We are delighted to be linked with such a prestigious league and hope to further our growth into non- league football. We will deliver top product for Management and players at all 62 clubs to ensure the league continues to look professional and ready to make the step up to National League. Many thanks to all for making this happen.”

The new deal was negotiated after the NPL parted company with Macron in September, though they will remain official benchwear partners for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

Founded in Turin in 1967, Kappa’s iconic logo of a silhouette of a boy and girl sitting back to back is known around the world.

Their work in the UK specifically includes being teamwear and kit supplier to Super League rugby club Salford Red Devils and the British Basketball League, including the Great Britain national teams.
