NPLFA vice chairman Darren Royle offers his thoughts on the secrets of the ground-breaking league-wide academy's success as staff and a fourth intake of students prepare for the start of their 2017-18 playing season next week after returning to class this month.
Thousands of fans will be downloading Friday's latest NPL Show featuring Royle and a host of managers running the rule over this weekend's upcoming action when it is released on iTunes and Audioboom soon after 6pm.
Produced as always by the award-winning team behind FCUM Radio, featuring fans, players, managers, journalists and pundits and hosted by Ben Hughes, the EVO-STIK League's stable of hit weekly and monthly podcasts returned after the summer break to build on their best ever listening figures last term and an end of season surge following a series of special live broadcasts from the play-offs.
The podcasts are being sponsored for the fourth season running by the NPL's title sponsors EVO-STIK and since last season have been available on both iTunes and Audioboom as well as via their own button on the right hand side of the home page on the league's official website.
The NPLFA was founded with the backing of the Football Association at five pilot clubs in September 2014 to provide career pathways into the football industry with youngsters studying on two year BTEC courses.
Still the only league-wide academy in English football combining sport with education and expanded to 12 members clubs, the NPLFA now offers students the chance to continue their education to degree level after teaming up with Loughborough College this summer to launch a new higher education partnership.
