Ogden, Broadhead resign from Woodley posts

Following Saturday's home defeat to Farsley AFC, joint Managers Matt Broadhead & Paul Ogden tendered their resignations to the board of Directors. Following lenthy discussions, the board accepted their offer to resign.

Both Matt & Paul have done an exceptional job in building a squad capable of challenging at the top of the table. They arrived at Woodley as Assistant Managers, working under the guidence of Chris Willcock. Following the departure of Chris, Matt & Paul were offered the chance to takeover at joint Managers. They duly accepted the challenge, and began their 1st stint as Managers within the Evo-Stik League. During their time in charge, Woodley have played some exceptional football, including recent home victories over AFC Fylde & Curzon Ashton (whilst also keeping clean sheets in each game). The playing squad at Woodley contains a number of highly regarded players, some of which have been courted by clubs within the Evo-Stik league and in the football league during the course of this season. Matt & Paul have the pulling power & contacts within the game to attract this type of player.

The club has offered Matt & Paul the opportuntity to remain as 1st team coaches, but we understand there will be a lot of interest from other clubs, who will want to speak to them regarding Management roles.

The club wishes Matt & Paul the very best for the future, in whatever they decide to do, and thanks them for their time, hardwork & endeavour over the course of this season.

Director of Football John Hindley will act as 'Caretaker Manager' until such time as the club finds a suitable replacement.
