AFC Fylde wish to announce that Manager, Kelham O’Hanlon, has left the club by mutual consent.
O’Hanlon, who joined the club as Manager in December 2009, narrowly missed getting the club promoted last season after being beaten by Chorley in the play-off final. However this season the club have had a stuttering start and are already 16 points behind the leaders, Curzon Ashton.
Commenting on the news AFC Fylde Chairman, David Haythornthwaite, said “Everyone knows we are a hugely ambitious club and to make progress we need to keep moving up the pyramid. This will be our third year in the Evo Stik First Division North and we need to get out this season if at all possible.
This was difficult for all concerned at the club but particularly for me, as I have had a long standing personal friendship with Kelham for many years. However, in the end, our vision on how to progress the club at all levels differed with that of the manager”.
The search is now on to find someone with a winning track record at this level and the Chairman confirmed that they have some specific targets in mind although no approaches have yet been made.
In the interim Assistant Manager, Mick Fuller, will assume all first team duties until a new manager is found.
