One half of touchline team departs

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Farsley Celtic have lost one half of their promotion-winning management duo.

Former Bradford Park Avenue boss John Deacey left Throstle Nest over the weekend after guiding Celtic to the runners-up spot in EVO-STIK NPL First Division North and promotion to the top flight via the play-offs alongside joint manager Neil Parsley.

The experienced Deacey, pictured, rejoined the Yorkshire club over 18 months ago after previous spells as number two and then manager between 2000 and 2008.

After securing victory over Ossett Town in the play-off final just two weeks ago, Deacey was thanked for his efforts in a club statement promising to update fans on developments as officials continue with their preparations the 2017-18 campaign.

"We would like to place on record our thanks to John for all his help over the last two seasons and wish him all the best for the future. Further information will follow over the next few days."
