One in, one out for Dolly Blues

Lancaster City have signed forward Sam Joel, but local lad Paul Jarvis will be spending time away from the game.

Joel, 22, came through the ranks at Blackburn and scored a brace for the Dolly Blues against Llandudno during his trial spell.

The Barrow-based forward can play anywhere across the front line as well as in midfield.

Meanwhile, Jarvis has asked for time away from the game and has the blessing of Dolly Blues boss Mark Fell.

Jarvis, 30, fought a battle with cancer last summer before returning to action during the season.

A club statement said: Having a break from football is Paul Jarvis, a local lad who always gave his all for the club, Paul feels the time is right to step away from the game temporarily and has been informed by manager Mark Fell that the door to the Giant Axe remains open for a return at any point.”

Where next?

Stafford land Port Vale midfielder Stafford Rangers have signed attacking midfielder Joe Berks on loan from Port Vale.
Double deal for Witton Witton have signed goalkeeper Chris Renshaw and defender Stefan Sorensen ahead of the new season.
