Party time at Pitmen

Hednesford Town might be embarking on their annual title tilt but the backroom staff at Keys Park reckon they’re just as busy preparing for a busy Christmas off the pitch, writes Chris Brewerton.

Apart from trying to keep up with the demands of fans looking for club themed gifts and preparing for Rushall Olympic at home on New Year's Day, staff are organising a New Year's Eve Northern Soul Party Party at Keys Park.

Tickets are now on sale at £7.50 per person for the event which includes a light buffet. Hednesford Secretary Terry McMahon urged fans to attend what he hopes will be a great fundraiser to end 2012 and stressed how vital commercial revenue from events can be to boosting the www.hednesfordtownfc.comclub's promotion hopes.

He said: “The players and management have been superb this season on the pitch and that is always important, but we hope to see as many supporters and local people as possible attend on New Year for what should be an enjoyable night.”

Keys Park is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday in the run up the festive period and tickets can also be purchased from the commercial office Saturday 22 December when Hednesford host Blyth Spartans.
