Founded in 1926 from humble beginnings in Stoke-on-Trent and now producing over five million savoury products every week from a £20 million Crewe bakery complex, Wrights were unveiled as the first ever official pie suppliers to the Northern Premier League at Saturday's Annual General Meeting in Blackpool as the competition confirmed its constitution for the 2018-19 season.
Club delegates at the EVO-STIK League's annual showcase for sponsors and partners before and after the AGM at the Hilton Hotel were the first to benefit from a two year partnership running until June 2020, tucking into the traditional bakery's wares courtesy of a hot oven brought along by Wrights for their stand.
According to EVO-STIK League chairman Mark Harris, clubs will be asked to complete a survey for Wrights over the coming weeks so the pie-makers and savoury specialists can tailor tasty deals for fans over the course of the campaign and the following season.
Harris, pictured with Wright's wholesale manager Rob Webb, said: "Appointing Wrights as our official pie partners is another innovative first for the new season that we were delighted to announce and now we're looking forward to sending the survey out. After being lucky enough to sample their quality like many others at the showcase, I'm sure that our fans will be very happy too!"
Webb was delighted to introduce Wrights to the EVO-STIK League by helping club officials ward off any lunchtime hunger pangs until dinner at Saturday night's end of season awards for more than 400 guests.
Webb said: "We never forget that our family business was built on a continued commitment, passion and desire to be the very best. We believe in making a difference, that our name stands for value for money, quality and innovation and with the integrity of our skilled workforce, we'll be aiming to provide our new customers around the EVO-STIK League with a service second to none."
