Premier Division round-up: Hyde hit seven as Robins’ run continues

By James Gordon

Hyde United climbed level on points with league leaders FC United of Manchester after thrashing 10-man Bamber Bridge 7-0 in the Northern Premier League.

Brad Roscoe opened the scoring for the Tigers, before Brig captain Macauley Wilson was shown a straight red card midway through the first half.

The hosts capitalised on their man superiority at Ewen Fields as Manasse Mampala netted a hat-trick, with further goals from Joe McGlynn, Jack Redshaw (pen) and Callum Spooner.

In the only other game of the round, Ashton United made it six games unbeaten as they beat Nantwich Town 2-1 at the Weaver Stadium.

First-half goals from Sam Baird and Darius Osei - the on-loan forward’s second in as many matches - put the Robins on their way before the break.

And even though the Dabbers pulled one back 10 minutes after half-time through Ivan Urvantev, the hosts could not find an equaliser as their winless run stretched to eight matches.
