Quality candidates only for key role

Witton Albion are looking for a commercial manager with the drive, ambition and experience to take the helm at the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League promotion-chasers.

Officials at Northwich’s leading football club announced on Thursday that they have launched the hunt for an appropriately qualified and experienced person to work with their board of directors to develop and implement a progressive and successful commercial strategy.

As well as generating revenues from the sale of sponsorships, stadium advertising, events and other activities at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club's Wincham Park home, pictured, the successful candidate will also assist in developing commercial relationships on behalf of Witton Albion In The Community which achieved charitable status in 2016.

Interviews will take place in the Northwich area in the coming weeks for the post which offers a competitive basic salary along with commission and bonuses linked to performance.

A Witton Albion spokesman said: "Ideally based locally, the successful candidate will have a positive approach with great attention to detail and delivering exceptional customer service. He or she will be proactive, confident, have excellent negotiation skills and be equally at home communicating via e-mail, phone and face-to-face with local and national businesses.

"Experience of working within a football club and similar organisations, or a passion for the game, would be advantageous, but emphasis will be placed upon relationship management skills and a history of sales success."

Founded in 1887 and currently managed by Carl McCauley, Witton Albion are third in EVO-STIK NPL First Division South and gunning for a return back to the top flight with games in hand on all their promotion rivals.

Potential candidates should send their CVs with a covering letter which includes a day-time telephone number and details of their current remuneration package to Witton Albion chairman Mark Harris via email at: chairman@wittonalbion.com. The post is not open to agency candidates.
