Ravens boss hits double top!

Coalville Town’s manager Adam Stevens enjoyed a double celebration on Saturday - taking a three point lead at the top of Evo-Stik NPL First Division South and picking up his September Manager of the Month Award.

Stevens had every reason to smile even before the Ravens recorded a thumping 6-2 victory over Leek Town to maintain their lead over nearest rivals Kings Lynn Town. The Linnets kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 2-1 away win at Kidsgrove Athletic but Coalville were in inspired form after seeing their manager honoured.

Before kick off at Owen Street League representative Mark Ogley made the official award presentation to Stevens, pictured, won on the back of his side's unbeaten run in September that confirmed the Ravens as serious early season title challengers.

Stevens was the last of September's top managers to be officially honoured. The previous Saturday Evo-Stik NPL First Division North’s top manager, Trafford's Garry Vaughan and the Premier Division winner, AFC Fylde’s Dave Challinor, received their honours before home matches.

Like Coalville’s Stevens, judges chose Challinor and Vaughan after they led their sides on unbeaten league runs last month.

Vaughan was presented with his award from League Finance Director and Marine Chairman Paul Leary ahead of their clubs’ FA Cup Third Qualifying Round clash at Shawe View. AFC Fylde's manager Challinor picked up his honour before his team's 4-1 FA Cup win over Solihull Moors at Kellamergh Park.

The Evo-Stik NPL Manager of the Month Awards are sponsored by League's sponsors Evo-Stik and their parent company Bostik. Each month the winning managers are awarded inscribed certificates recording their achievements as well as personalised items from the Errea benchwear range.

August's honours were won by Ashton United's Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division manager Danny Johnson, Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Skelmersdale's Tommy Lawson and Stamford's Graham Dury in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South.
