Right recruits wanted for key roles

Witton Albion are recruiting volunteers with the right stuff to fill two key posts at the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League club.

To support a number of new initiatives at the Northwich-based club, officials are on the look-out for two “enthusiastic and appropriately skilled volunteers” to become their new assistant secretary and communications manager.

Officials at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club say the part-time and unpaid roles both offer great opportunities to anyone hoping to break into football administration and marketing although they are also welcoming applications from experienced individuals.

The post of assistant secretary involves supporting the club’s football secretary Glynis McDonough on first team match days as well as carrying out secretarial duties for the development squad, youth and academy teams at Wincham Park.

Areas of responsibility will include confirming fixtures, completing player registrations and liaising with the various leagues and competitions concerned. Importantly, the successful applicant must be mobile, fully connected to on-line services and willing to work as part of a team.

Witton Albion say their new communication manager will be expected to build on the regular and widespread coverage they already generate internally and receive in the external media by ensuring all their latest news, events and promotions are turned into stories for maximum coverage in the various channels at the club’s disposal.

Experience of publicity and PR is an advantage, although officials say commitment and enthusiasm are more important, as are hitting deadlines, attention to detail and the ability to work in a team.
