Mossley maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North table after both they and second-placed Skelmersdale United won on Saturday, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The leaders beat Burscough 3-1 at Seel Park with goals from Sam Madeley with two on three and 65 minutes, Will Jones sandwiching an equaliser after 10 minutes, and Kayde Coppin 11 minutes from time.

Skem edged out Ossett Town 2-1 at home, coming back from being a seventh minute Shane Kelsey goal down to win, thanks to Adam Morning on 25 minutes and Rob McIntosh two minutes after half-time.

Clitheroe, Trafford and Ramsbottom United fill the other slots in the top five after Farsley FC's 4-0 mauling at Irongate by Bamber Bridge. Andy Bell netted a hat-trick for Brig with goals in the 33rd, 59th and 63rd minutes – Matty Kay adding the fourth in stoppage time.

Clitheroe had a 20th minute Danny Mahoney effort to thank for their narrow 1-0 win at Dimple Wells against lowly Ossett Albion, while Trafford took their goal difference tally to plus twenty-nine after a 5-1 home drubbing of second-bottom Goole AFC.

Michael Oates' first minute goal set the ball rolling for the hosts and the top scorer went on to take his own tally to eighteen with a hat-trick. Bill Law had the Vikings level for seven minutes with Shelton Payne and Martyn Andrews adding to Trafford's tally in the second half.

Ramsbottom United also went nap at the Giant Axe against neighbouring Lancaster City. Both Lee Gaskell and Jon Robinson bagged braces for Rammy in the first half, with Mark Ayres adding the fifth in the last minute.

Warrington Town hit four without reply at home to struggling Harrogate Railway Athletic with recent signing Mark Beesley, Peter Dogan, Lee McEvilly and a Nathan Maloney own goal accounting for the tally.

Wakefield ran out of steam in the last 15 minutes and surrendered a one goal lead to lose all three points at home to Prescot Cables.

Wakefield struck first with a deflected shot from Tom Marsden on 57 minutes. But they were caught napping on 76 minutes when Daniel Lambert netted for Prescot. It seemed as though it would end even until on a minute into stoppage time when they failed to clear the ball twice and James McCulloch grabbed the winner for Cables.

Salford City eased to a comfortable 3-0 Moor Lane win over Garforth Town with goals from Rob Kinsella with two first half strikes and Jamie Rother late on, while Radcliffe Borough won the derby at the Tameside Stadium against Curzon Ashton with goals from Ben Wharton from the spot after 20 minutes and Tom Brooks on 53 minutes.

The other game between New Mills and Cammell Laird ended all-square with Michael Fish giving the Millers an early fifth minute lead that Jamie Henders cancelled out for the visitors 15 minutes later.
