Leaders Warrington Town were one of those inactive, but second-placed Northwich Victoria travelled to the Giant Axe to take on a Lancaster City side looking to get back into the play-off picture after defeat to Glossop North End last week.
It didn`t look good for the Dolly Blues as they found themselves 2-0 down to goals from Iain Howard after 16 minutes and then Richard Bennett on the half-hour mark.
But a Billy Akrigg brace in the 41st and then 71st minutes earned the hosts a point and leaves Vics 11 points adrift of Warrington but with four games in hand.
Farsley Celtic made it twelve games unbeaten and slipped into seventh spot after a goalless draw at Victoria Park against fifth-placed Burscough.
The only other game saw bottom-markers New Mills suffer a 5-1 defeat at Clitheroe, who are now ninth, just four points behind the top five.
The Millers got off to a great start too when Ashley Woodhead put them in front inside the opening minute. Sefton Gonzales equalised after 10 minutes and eight minutes later Scott Harries put the Blues in front.
Ross Dent after 25 minutes and Dan Brady 11 minutes later gave Clitheroe a 4-1 interval lead before Kurt Willoughby scored the only second half goal with less than three minutes to go.
