Saturday's First Division South action review

By David Watters

In a programme restricted to just four games due to the FA Trophy, the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South`s bottom two teams both picked up points on Saturday.

Bottom-markers Tividale shared a 1-1 home draw with neighbours Chasetown, whose Ryan Wynter gave them the lead on the half-hour mark. Chris Sterling`s penalty 10 minutes later eventually earned the hosts a share of the points.

Second-bottom Rugby Town prevented Leek Town from moving into the top five with 1-0 Butlin Road victory, courtesy of top scorer David Kolodynski`s 52nd minute effort.

Market Drayton Town moved up to ninth after a 2-0 home win against Romulus with goals from Scott Ryan after 35 minutes and Simon Everall 10 minutes after the break.

And Daventry Town are seventh after winning 2-1 at the Sir Halley Stewart Fields against Spalding United, thanks to an 87th minute Nabil Shariff winner. Earlier, Kieran Fitzgerald had cancelled out Jamie Graham`s 42nd minute opener for the Tulips with 18 minutes to go.
